Sailability Bayside is an all-volunteer not for profit organisation dedicated to providing sailing for people with disabilities, regardless of age, gender or disability. Our clients enthusiastically embrace their sailing activities and find that sailing is fun, and a safe and rewarding activity in which all can participate.
We offer the choice of individual sailing with one of our volunteers in a Hansa dinghy or sailing in groups of six in our 7 metre keel yacht Faith.
The lunch time BBQ in our picturesque location over-looking the Manly marina and Moreton Bay also adds to the enjoyment and carers confirm the difference that Sailability makes to the often restricted lives of our disabled friends.
People with all types of disabilities including Cerebral Palsy, MS, MD, Spina Bifida, Vision Impairment, Brain Injury and Learning Difficulties are catered for and especially people with restricted mobility are able to sail with us.
In the last 12 months we have provided just over 4400 sailing experiences and our numbers are increasing each year as the activity becomes more widely known to support organisations.
Sailability Bayside incurs substantial costs to maintain our fleet of 15 dinghies and a 7 metre yacht, and being a not for profit charity, relies heavily on community support for funding. Items such as replacement sails and portable radios have been recently replaced and the Bayside Business Network have assisted with a generous donation of $500 towards these replacements.
Sailability Bayside is most grateful for the support of the Bayside Business Network.
