Sharon Simeon, a Senior Broker specializing in strata insurance, has been part of PSC Insurance Brokers for 16 years, bringing both expertise and compassion to her work.
Supporting Night Ninjas
Sharon has been actively involved with Night Ninjas, a not-for-profit organization supporting people in our community facing hardship. Night Ninjas provides food, clothing, personal care products, tents, blankets, sleeping bags, and more. Their services include three night feeds a week at local locations, as well as two breakfast feeds for children on their way to school.
For the past three years, Sharon has volunteered around 30 hours a month, cooking approximately 200 meals and serving them every Monday night. She also attends committee meetings and helps at volunteer days, spreading awareness about the charity and raising funds to support its ongoing programs.
“I wanted to give back to the community while still working full-time,” Sharon says. “It’s a privilege to be able to help people in need.”
Making an Impact
Sharon’s involvement has had tangible outcomes. She has witnessed families get back on their feet and regain independence, filling a critical gap in providing meals to those in need. Beyond the practical support, her work has also changed her perspective, making her more aware of other people’s challenges and fostering empathy.
While this is largely an individual effort, PSC Insurance Brokers recognized her contributions. Sharon was even nominated for her community service at the company’s awards night and made it to the finals—an acknowledgment of her incredible dedication.
Why Local Businesses Should Get Involved
Sharon believes that supporting local community groups is essential for small businesses. “It keeps us grounded and aware of our community,” she says. She encourages other BRBN members to get involved: “Do it. The feeling you get when you see how much your small contribution can help others is so rewarding.”
